As a member of Teach for America, an educator in the inner city, and someone who wears their heart on their sleeve, I must say that I am a strong advocate for educational equity. Yes, I know it is a buzz word, but there is an alarming disparity of resources, supports, and quality teaching in certain parts of our country – there is no denying it.
It can be so incredibly hard to take a step back and realize all of the inequities and the 
years and years of historical injustices that have set communities, schools, and ultimately our students up to fail, but it is important to keep yourself grounded in your values and morals and show up for these kids every day.
Both inside and outside of the classroom there are steps that we can take to achieve greater educational equity in this country. I encourage you to check out some of the links below to continue to grow your knowledge in this uphill battle and maybe even inspire you to take some action, whatever that looks like.
